Leonora Winslow


Leonora Winslow Leonora Winslow Leonora Mary Pollard Winslow 92, of Eatonton, Georgia, passed away Monday, February 13, 2017, at Boswell Parker Health and Rehabilitation Center in Greensboro, Georgia.

She was born May 17, 1924, to Samuel James Pollard of Sault Ste. Marie and Amie Tassier Pollard of Cedarville in Cedarville. The seventh of nine children, she grew up in Cedarville.

Mrs. Winslow was graduated from Cedarville High School in 1944.

She married Alvin Alexander Winslow September 28, 1946, at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Hessel.

Mrs. Winslow worked as a sales clerk and cashier for Sears. She served as a volunteer for the American Red Cross. The job she found most rewarding was being a wife and mother. Mr. and Mrs. Winslow lived in Royal Oak, where they reared their family. After the death of her husband, she moved to Tucson, Arizona, and lived with her daughter, Ruth Ann Winslow. In 2010, she moved from Tucson to Eatonton, to live with her son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Patricia

Winslow.

She was a member of Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church.

Mrs. Winslow enjoyed reading, crocheting, puzzles, and traveling.

She is survived by her children and their families, Ruth Ann Winslow, Barbara Prested, Carolyn and Dale Miller, Thomas and Karen Winslow, Patricia and Thomas Mullen, Terry and Alexandria Winslow, and Timothy and Patricia Winslow; 11 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law and their families, Jeanne Baker Bachula and Nadine McKenzie Pollard.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Winslow was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin, and all of her siblings and their spouses, James Pollard, Aloysious and Doris Pollard, Marjorie and William O’Brien, John and Elizabeth Pollard, Leonard Pollard, Emma Mae Pollard, Lorraine Pollard, and George Pollard.

A memorial service and celebration of Mrs. Winslow’s life will be held Friday, June 9, at 11:30 a.m., at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Hessel with Father Peter Fosu officiating.

Burial will be in Cedar Cemetery in Cedarville.
