Corey Miller


Corey Miller Corey Miller Corey Arthur Miller, 47, of Gaylord, formerly of DeTour Village, died Monday, February 20, 2017, at Otsego Memorial Hospital in Gaylord.

He was born May 12, 1969, to Terrance and Cornelia (nee Bailey) Miller in St. Ignace.

Mr. Miller grew up in DeTour Village. He was graduated from De- Tour High School in 1987. He played basketball on the team that became state runner-up. After high school, he attended Northern Michigan University, before returning to Drummond Island to work for his uncle at Marshall’s Mobile. While there, he earned his instrument-rated pilot’s license. He subsequently went to work for Cherry Capital Aviation in Traverse City. Mr. Miller was also employed as a computer technician for United Parcel Service for 17 years.

He loved and raced snowmobiles, and he liked to tinker with their engines. He enjoyed hunting small game.

Mr. Miller was a member of Union Presbyterian Church in De- Tour Village.

He is survived by a daughter, Ella Grace Miller; his mother, Cornelia Miller, and two brothers and their families, Jay and Jody Miller of North Muskegon and Craig and Traci Miller of DeTour Village.

Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his father, Terrance Miller, who died in 1997.

A memorial service was held Monday, February 27, at 2 p.m. at Union Presbyterian Church in De- Tour Village.
