St. Ignace

As this month moves quickly, folks are eager to get campers out of storage and head out to peaceful, natural areas.

David Blair saw a snowy owl last Friday morning. The owl was in his yard for some time.

There be a memorial service for- Beth “Sady” (nee Closs) Hocking of Clarkston Saturday, May 6, at 4 p.m., in Clarkston at the Lewis E. Wint Funeral Home at 5929 Main Street. Sady grew up in Evergreen Shores. Her parents were John and Nettie Closs, and she was the youngest of three daughters. She had the best sense of humor and will be missed by all. An obituary appears in this issue of The St. Ignace News.

Community Action Agency in St. Ignace offers nutritious meals each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at noon to senior citizens for a small fee. Come out and join in for a social time with friends.

Little Bear East Area is accepting registration forms for St. Ignace baseball and softball. Forms are available and may be returned Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. or Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The program is for ages 4 to 16. Frank Davis was a recent patient at McLaren Northern Michigan hospital in Petoskey, where he underwent surgery last Friday. Wishing Frank well.

Happy birthday to my nephew, David Smith, who celebrated March 22.

Junior wrestling finished out the season at Newberry March 18. Families looked forward to each event. Good job to the young wrestlers!

Cooper Farr, son of Ron Farr and Carol Halberg, has been graduated from basic training and has become an official airman. Congratulations to Cooper.

Happy birthday wishes to Theresa Alexander April 4 and to my daughter, Dawn Wilcox, April 6.
