Mackinac County Sheriff’s Office Weekly Activity Report

For the week of March 13 through March 19, the following activity was reported by the Mackinac County Sheriff’s Office:

• Deputies responded to four property damage crashes throughout the county, three of which involved car and deer. Deputies also responded to two personal injury crashes, one in St. Ignace Township, with the other occurring in Portage Township. Alcohol was suspected as a factor in both.

• Deputies arrested a person pursuant to an outstanding local court warrant.

• Deputies responded to a telephone fraud complaint that remains under investigation.

• Pursuant to a traffic stop in Moran Township, a driver was arrested for operating a vehicle without insurance.

• Deputies responded to a civil complaint, which resulted in drugs and drug paraphernalia being discovered. The complaint remains under investigation.

• Deputies are investigating a complaint of a nonsufficient funds check having been passed at a business. The complaint remains under investigation.

• Deputies were requested for a complaint of a larceny from a building. The report remains open and under investigation.

• Pursuant to a traffic stop in Garfield Township, deputies arrested a driver for operating while intoxicated with a high blood alcohol content.

• While assisting the St. Ignace Police Department with an assault complaint, deputies arrested a person for minor in possession of alcohol.

• Deputies responded to a cat-atlarge complaint. The cat was located and taken to the Mackinac County Animal Shelter pending discovery of its owner.

• Deputies rendered two law enforcement assists and one motorist assist.

• Deputies provided one civil standby and performed two wellbeing checks.

• Eight people were booked into the Mackinac County Jail.
