The annual St. Ignace Home Show, Spring Expo, and Gun Show will be held Friday, April 7, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday, April 8, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Little Bear East Arena and Conference Center in St. Ignace. Admission is free, and everyone is welcome.

I had a nice conversation with my friend, LeRoy Sheffer. He is doing well and he had a good winter.

Belated birthday wishes to Amy Brown, who celebrated her birthday March 24 with family and friends.

Destiny Stenberg was a recent visitor in St. Ignace, where she spent time with her father, Dan Blair. She will be enjoying her first trip to Florida over spring break with her aunt and uncle, Dawn and Dustin Wilcox.

A support group meets the first and third Monday of each month, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Straits Evangelical Free Church in St. Ignace. Co-leaders are associate pastor Bill Caroffino and social worker Elgie Dow. The support group is for people who are going through life changes such as the death of a friend or loved one, divorce or separation, job loss, or other life events that cause trauma or sadness. The sessions are free and open to the public.

The St. Ignace Public Library will start their annual silent auction Wednesday, April 5. Donations are always appreciated and may be dropped off at the library. An open house will be held Thursday, April 27, and all final silent auction bids will be taken. Refreshments will be provided.

Condolences to the family of Ron Wartella of St. Ignace, who passed away Thursday, March 23. He was a member of Moose Lodge 999, where he cooked for the Friday night fish fries. An obituary appears in this issue of The St. Ignace News.
