Summary of Council Proceedings

April 3, 2017

The Regular Council Meeting convened at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 3, 2017, in the Council Chambers at City Hall with Mayor Litzner presiding.

Council excused Councilmember Fullerton and Councilmember Tremble from the meeting. Councilmember Fullerton was out of town and Councilmember Tremble was unable to attend due to medical reasons.

Council approved the minutes from the March 20, 2017 Council Meeting.

Comments were received.

Council authorized Mayor Litzner to sign the Mutual Aid Agreement between the Mackinac County Sheriff’s Office, The City of Mackinac Island and the City of St. Ignace.

Council adopted Resolutions for Solid Rates and Jeeps on the Mac.

Council approved the Election Inspectors for the May 2, 2017 Special Election.

Council authorized Police Chief Wilk to seek bids for the sale of the black and white 2009 Ford Crown Victoria.

Council approved the appointment of Assistant City Clerk, Andrea Insley, to the position of City Clerk, with a beginning salary of $45,000 on January 1, 2018.

Mayor Litzner opened bids for roof replacement and drywall repair and painting at the Golf Course and tentatively accepted the low bid from Wilcox Construction pending recommendation from the Golf Course Committee.

There were no public comments.

Council considered and approved bills in the amount of $45,148.50.

The next Regular Council Meeting will be held on Monday, April 17, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall.
