(Photographs provided by Les Cheneaux Community Library) Depicting everything from basketball games and beach scenes to the Mount Peepmore National Monument and the Princess and the Peep, entries in the first Les Cheneaux Community Library Peeps® diorama contest showcased a widerange of creativity. Organized by the library in Cedarville as part of the celebration for Easter, submissions were divided into three divisions, youth, group, and adult. All featured the marshmallow Easter candy.

The winner of the youth division was Charlotte Kozma for her “PerfectPeeper” diorama. The design featured candy as a substitute for the sheep featured in mattress advertisements. Grace Daiker and Reagan Smith won the group division with “Peeps on a Beach,” featuring the sugary holiday treats sunbathing, parasailing, and swimming in a sea of frosting. The best diorama chosen by the library staff for the adult division was the “Little ‘Boat’ Peep” display, which made a twist on the popular English nursery rhyme and gave a nod to Les Cheneaux boating.

The Peeps basketball game diorama featured the Pickford Peeps versus the Trojan Peeps on a miniature replica of John Duncan Gymnasium at Cedarville High School, complete with a concession stand, referees, and a scoreboard. The diorama was designed by Jaycee Sayles, Shelby Sayles, Layla Brumgard, Amalia Brumgard, and Nevaeh Daiker.
