The program is free of charge.

Their publications include an anthology of short stories, essays, and poetry, and several young authors will publish individual novellas or novelettes. JLB Creatives Publishing of Mount Dora, Florida, publishes these works at no cost as electronic books and offers them to the public at no charge for download from several sources on the Internet, including Overdrive.

This is the fifth consecutive year that Pickford Community Library has been the venue for the young authors’ writing sessions. The group was founded in 2012 by Pickford Community Library manager Ann Marie Smith, and it is overseen and taught by members of JLB Creatives Publishing’s staff: local residents Dar Bagby of Brimley and Connie Thompson of Barbeau, and Janet Beasley and Jean Lane of Florida, who will participate via Skype. The writing group, consisting of aspiring authors age 12 through college, meets every other Thursday from October to May to learn the craft and compose their works.

Friends of Pickford Community Library will provide refreshments. The library is at 230 East Main Street in Pickford.
