Summary of Council Proceedings

May 1, 2017

The Regular Council Meeting convened at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 1, 2017, in the Council Chambers at City Hall with Mayor Litzner presiding.

Council approved the minutes from the April 17, 2017, Council Meeting.

Deb Evashevski informed Council that the Pocket Park project will be delayed until after Labor Day.

City Clerk Vonderwerth informed Council that the Assistant City Clerk position is available to be advertised.

Betsy Dayrell-Hart informed Council on the Sustainabile Built Environment Initiative.

Council adopted a Resolution of Support for participation in the Redevelopment Ready Communities Program.

Representatives from Waste Management and Shepler’s discussed a solution to the dumpster issue.

Council approved the mutual aid agreement between the City Police Department and Mackinaw City.

Council approved the agreement with the Chamber of Commerce.

Police Chief Wilk reported that no bids were received for the police vehicle, and Lance Dekeyser will purchase it for $100.

Council adopted a Grant Resolution for new voting equipment.

City Manager Therrian addressed Council’s concerns regarding the 2017 firework display contract, adding there are issues with Star Line this year.

City Manager Therrian informed Council on the State Tax Commission issue.

Mayor Litzner scheduled another work session for Monday, May 8, 2017.

Public comment was received.

Council considered and approved bills in the amount of $10,368.93.

The next Regular Council Meeting will be held on Monday, May 15, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall.
