Planning Commission Schedules Final Meeting on Signage

People in St. Ignace can share their ideas and suggestions about current downtown signage and sign ordinances when the St. Ignace Planning Commission have their final stakeholders meeting Wednesday, May 17, from 10 a.m. to noon, at the St. Ignace Public

Library. The meeting is open to everyone, and public participation is encouraged.

During the meeting, the planning commission will present the conclusions that have been drawn thus far, and will ask for specific input from stakeholders on current signage, sign ordinances, signs as they apply to placemaking in downtown St. Ignace, and other topics.

Following the meeting, the planning commission will write a draft of amendments to the current sign ordinance, as required, and will present the draft at a public hearing. Following any changes to the draft, the planning commission will present the document to City Council for consideration. Council may then schedule another public hearing if Council considers it necessary.
