Joyce Castle

Joyce Castle Joyce Castle Joyce Anna Castle, 83, of Rudyard, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 6, 2017, in Sault Ste. Marie, surrounded by her family.

She was born June 17, 1933, to Zell and Lula May (nee Smith) Davis in Paradise.

Mrs. Castle retired from Rudyard Area Schools, after 28 years of bus driving.

She was a member of the VFW in Brimley.

Mrs. Castle loved playing bingo, gardening, and canning. She was a proud grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, family members said.

She is survived by her children and their families, Rodney and Karen Stevens of Rudyard, Keith and Shelly McGowan of Trout Lake, Arvie Stevens of Rudyard, Brian Stevens of Grand Rapids, Jeffery and Sharolyn Stevens of Rudyard, and Renee and Tony Printz of Waterford; grandchildren, Cameron Stevens, Emily Miller, Melissa Matthews, Kevin Matthews, Kennedy Stevens, Keith McGowan Jr., Dennis Mc- Gowan, Rachel Ball, Taylor Stevens, Kendyll Stevens, Nikki Printz, Kristen Printz, and Tony Printz, and great-grandchildren, Payten Stevens, Shane Stevens, Kyle Stevens, Keidyn Plumm, Maddisyn Plumm, Tyler Peake, Kody Peake, Patrick Peake, and Kaylee Peake; one great-greatgrandchild, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Castle was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jessica Peake; a grandson, Lee Stevens; two sisters, Zella Elliot and Carol Dunbar; two brothers, Alva Davis and Jude “Raymond” Davis, and a friend, Bonnie Rushford.

Services will be Saturday, May 13, at 1 p.m. at R. Galer Funeral Home in Pickford. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to time of the service. In accordance with Mrs. Castle’s wishes, those attending are asked to dress casually.

Burial will be at the Baptist Cemetery in Paradise.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the War Memorial Hospital Dialysis Fund.
