Martha Sheppard

Martha Sheppard Martha Sheppard Martha A. Sheppard, 88, of Manistique, passed away Friday, May 12, 2017, at the Schoolcraft Medical Care Facility in Manistique.

She was born October 8, 1928, to Lester and Lucy (nee Wright) Livermore in Shingleton.

Mrs. Sheppard attended school in Germfask. She was graduated from Manistique High School.

She married Delbert Sheppard January 10, 1947, in Manistique. They made their home and reared their family in the Manistique area.

Mrs. Sheppard was self employed as a seamstress for many years. She taught Bible school and was involved with her church as a Sunday school teacher, in addition to her own Saturday/Sunday school.

She was a member of the Maple Grove Mennonite Church in Gulliver.

Mrs. Sheppard enjoyed camping and traveling. She especially enjoyed traveling with her sisters over the past several years. Most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by two sons and their families, Donald and Deborah Sheppard of Cadillac and Michael and Ramona Sheppard of Manistique; a daughter and her family, Judith and Kenneth Dietzel of Pigeon; six grandchildren, and 12 greatgrandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings and their families, J.D. and Barb Livermore of Germfask, Louella and John Snow of Rexton, David and Linda Livermore of Garnet, Lester and Kathy Livermore of Naubinway, Evelyn and Dale Burgess of Engadine, Roy and Karen Livermore of Rexton, Frank and Yvonne Livermore of Milan, Frances and Don Berry of Manistique, and Steve and Deb Livermore of Engadine.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sheppard was preceded in death by her husband, who died August 15, 2016; a son, Rex Sheppard; a grandson, Gregory Sheppard, and two siblings, Clayton Livermore and Ethel Livermore.

Services were Monday, May 15, at 3 p.m. at Messier-Broullire Funeral Home in Manistique with Pastor J.D. Livermore officiating. Visitation was from 1 p.m. to time of the service.

Burial followed at the Riverside Cemetery in Germfask. A luncheon followed at the Germfask Community Center.
