Schoolmates Congratulate Grads

Arron Bailey is leading the procession of the Class of 2017 LaSalle High School graduates down the elementary school corridor Friday, May 19. Each graduate was greeted with applause, high-fives, and an occasional hug from schoolmates as they paraded past elementary and middle school students and teachers in their caps and gowns. This is the first year the procession took place, at the suggestion of elementary schoolteacher Amy Metz. It will become an annual tradition, according to Principal Gregg Fettig. It was well received by the students. He said it gives the students, who look up to the seniors, a chance to celebrate their academic achievements, and have something to look forward to themselves in the future. The 50 senior class students will don their caps and gowns one last time at commencement Friday, May 26, at 8 p.m. at the LaSalle High School gymnasium.
