Flag Flies From Bridge

A large American flag flew from the Mackinac Bridge for the first time Monday morning, May 29, in honor of Memorial Day. The flag was hung from the south tower at about 6:30 a.m. and remained in place through about 11 a.m., when high winds led bridge crews to take it down. The Mackinac Bridge Authority plans to hang this flag from the bridge on patriotic holidays. (Photograph courtesy of the Michigan Department of Transportation)
