Elaine Horn Elaine Horn Elaine Horn, 68, of St. Ignace, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2017, following a long illness.

She was born July 22, 1948, to Walter and Bernice (nee Kustra) Dolney in Onaway.

She married Robert Horn April 12, 1969, in Bay City.

Mrs. Horn was employed as a clerk for the Mackinac County Prosecuting Attorney’s office for many years, as well as the Mackinac County Sheriff’s Department. She was also employed as a waitress at the Galley Restaurant in St. Ignace. She enjoyed her time working at all three jobs.

She was a tiny lady with an iron will, and she also had a wonderful and infectious sense of humor, family members said. She loved spreading smiles to all wherever she went.

Mrs. Horn was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church in St. Ignace.

She loved beach combing, gardening to create stunning views, shopping at garage sales, traveling, and attending family reunions, where she was the life of the party. She enjoyed these hobbies with people she loved the most, her family and friends. Mrs. Horn enjoyed attending all of the activities and sporting events of her grandchildren. She took tremendous pride in her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Horn; two daughters and their families, Dawn Baker and her fiancé, Ron Madigan, of Harbor Springs and Dara and David Kellan of St. Ignace; two sons, Derrick Horn of St. Ignace and Darren Horn of Beulah, Wyoming; five grandchildren, Brittany Baker, Brendan Baker, Garrett Kellan, Gaven Gustafson, and Gwendalyn Kellan, and her former son-in-law, Nick Baker of Roscommon. She is also survived by four sisters and their families, Felicia and Joe Jaskowski, Joan McRoberts, Cindy Weiss, and Charmaine Jordan; two brothers and their families, John and Isolde Dolney and Dennis and Pam Dolney; two sisters-in-law and their families, Linda and Larry Belonga and Jen Glashaw; one brother-inlaw and his family, Jerry and Irene Horn, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mrs. Horn was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister, Sylvia.

Services will be Monday, June 5, at 11 a.m. at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church in St. Ignace. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to time of the service at the church. A luncheon will be served in the lower level of the church following the service.

Dodson Funeral Home of St. Ignace is assisting the family with arrangements.
