Kody Rickley finished fourth with an 83, Andy Metz sixth with an 85, and Drew Marshall and Lane Matson tied for eighth, with each carding a score of 88.

For the girls, Lydia Brown placed fifth out of 28 golfers with a score of 104 and Olivia Champion tied for sixth with 105.

St. Ignace Coach Claudette Brown was proud of the way her team played.

“It was a very good day. They worked extremely hard,” she said.

She is especially proud of her senior class. Her first year as coach coincided with their first year in high school. Marshall, Tallaire, Rickley, Steve Seccia, and Brown all were graduated this year.

“It’s going to be hard to let them go. They’re pretty special,” she said. “This whole group is a great group of boys and girls. It’s the most I’ve ever had and it is very unfortunate that I couldn’t take them all [to the finals]. I’m losing some really good golfers this year, but there are more to come.”
