Summary of Council Proceedings

June 5, 2017

The Regular Council Meeting convened at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 5, 2017, in the Council Chambers at City Hall with Mayor Litzner presiding.

Council approved the minutes from the May 15, 2017, Council Meeting.

Anderson, Tackman and Company, PLC presented the annual 2016 Audit report.

Council approved a request from the St. Ignace Area Schools for an extension on an existing lease agreement regarding the McCann Street Athletic Field.

Council adopted Resolutions for the Downtown Yard Sale, a Charitable Gaming License for the St. Ignace Volunteer Fire Association, Antiques on the Bay and the Car Show.

City Manager Therrian informed Council that Dennis Brown has accepted the Water Line Maintenance Foreman position and will begin on July 1, 2017. Also, the City has received notification that the State received approval for a quit claim deed for the conveyance of excess property.

Councilmember Paquin presented a request from the National Association of Show Trucks for a charitable gaming license.

Council adopted the revised Compensatory Time Policy prepared by Mayor Litzner.

Council authorized Police Chief Wilk to proceed with hiring a replacement for Officer Jobes.

Council moved to go into executive session to discuss strategy for pending litigation.

Council returned from Closed Session at 7:55 p.m.

Council considered and approved bills in the amount of $ 73,259.90.

The next Regular Council Meeting will be held on Monday, June 19, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall.
