Mackinac County Sheriff’s Office Weekly Activity Report

For the week of May 29 through June 4, the following activity was reported by the Mackinac County Sheriff’s Office:

• Deputies responded to five property damage crashes, two involving car and deer. Deputies also responded to one personal injury crash.

• Pursuant to a traffic stop in Brevort Township, a person was arrested for operating an off-road vehicle while his license was suspended. The subject also had an outstanding Chippewa County warrant.

• Deputies were dispatched to a St. Ignace Township residence for a domestic violence complaint, and arrested one person for domestic violence. That person was booked into the Mackinac County Jail.

• Deputies responded to two separate and unrelated malicious destruction of property complaints in Clark Township and another in Moran Township. These complaints remain under investigation.

• Deputies were dispatched to two separate trespassing complaints. These occurred at a business in Moran Township and a seasonal residence in Garfield Township.

• Mackinac County Animal Control responded to two animal-atlarge complaints.

• Deputies responded to three suspicious situation complaints and provided assistance with two civil disturbances throughout the county.

• Deputies investigated a natural death incident in Clark Township.

• Deputies were dispatched to a larceny complaint in Garfield Township, where a homeowner reported that a chainsaw had been taken from an outbuilding. The complaint remains under investigation.

• Deputies investigated a report of identity theft in the west end of the county. A person advised that someone had applied for benefits in their name. The complaint remains under investigation.

• Deputies provided assistance to the St. Ignace Police on one occasion, Michigan State Police once, and Clark Township EMS once.

• Six people were booked into the Mackinac County Jail.
