Silas McTiver

Silas McTiver Silas McTiver Silas James McTiver, 6, of Newberry, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2017.

He was born February 1, 2011, to Scott and Shelly (nee Archambeau) McTiver in Petoskey.

Silas was a kindergartener at Newberry Elementary School, where he was well liked by his teachers and schoolmates. His favorite subject was mathematics.

He enjoyed T-ball and was a member of Nature’s Kennels T-ball team. He enjoyed playing with his friends and cousins. He also enjoyed off-roading, snowmobiling, fishing, arts and crafts, and farming.

In addition to his parents, Silas is survived by his paternal grandparents, Larry “Ike” and Sandy McTiver of Newberry; maternal grandparents, James and Mary Archambeau, also of Newberry; maternal great-grandfather, Raymond Archambeau of Engadine; an uncle and his family, Stewart and Carol McTiver of Newberry; an aunt and her family, Susan and Ken Jewell of McMillan, and four cousins, Mark McTiver, Layla McTiver, Anna Jewell, and Chelsea Jewell.

He was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandparents, Stuart and June McTiver and Bud and Merida Davis, and maternal greatgrandmother, Julia Archambeau.

Services were Monday, June 19, at 5 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Engadine with Pastor Arthur Bode officiating. Visitation was from 3 p.m. to time of the service at the church.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.

Beaulieu Funeral Home in Newberry assisted the family with arrangements.
