Summary of Council Proceedings

June 19, 2017

The Regular Council Meeting convened at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 19, 2017, in the Council Chambers at City Hall with Mayor Litzner presiding.

Council approved the minutes from the June 5, 2017, Council Meeting.

Enbridge presented the Fire Department a $1000 Safe Community Grant.

Council adopted resolutions for Weekly Events, Heritage Days, Fish Feast, Minis on the Mac, and a Charitable Gaming License for the National Association of Show Trucks.

Council introduced amendments to the Sign Ordinance.

Council agreed to have the Policy Committee establish a policy for rentals of available office space in City Hall.

Council authorized the signing of the extended lease agreement between the St. Ignace Schools and the City for the McCann Street Football Field.

Council agreed that a registered letter be sent to Maverick Construction regarding completing issues with the CDBG and SRF projects.

City Manager Therrian reviewed the May financials with Council.

Council approved the Council Meeting changes in July from the 3rd to the 10th and from the 17th to the 24th.

Mayor Pro-Tem Paquin, regarding the letter in the packet from Duane Reid USDA, commended City Manager Therrian and staff for their hard effort and great accomplishment in finally bringing the water and sewer covenants into compliance.

Council considered and approved bills in the amount of $73,259.90.

The next Regular Council Meeting will be held on Monday, July 10, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall.
