Music, Art Show Will Offer Cruise

This Saturday at Les Cheneaux

This year’s Music and Arts Dockside at Hessel Marina Saturday, July 22, will include an optional cruise from St. Ignace and Mackinac Island to the event aboard the Isle Royale Queen III. The art festival’s aim is to celebrate artistic talent in the Les Cheneaux community. It starts at 10 a.m. and continues to 4 p.m.

The festival is free and open to the public, and will feature art from members of the Les Cheneaux Area Artisan Cooperative. The event will also feature live music from Hank Erwin, Marty Feldhake, and Jimmy Williams. Each artist will perform in two hour blocks beginning at 10 a.m. Atist Linda Sattler will host a children’s activity area with art projects. The children’s area is sponsored by the Les Cheneaux Lions Club. Food vendors will be on hand.

The cruise will depart from St. Ignace, leaving from the Favorite dock at 385 North State Street at 10 a.m. and also picking up passengers from Mackinac Island. It will depart the Island at 11 a.m. bound for Les Cheneaux. The trip from Mackinac Island to Hessel is approximately 1.5 hours. Passengers will be able to enjoy the Music and Art Dockside until the boat departs Hessel at 3 p.m. It will return to the Island around 4:30 p.m. and back to St. Ignace at approximately 5:15 p.m. The cruise will feature live entertainment from Pete Kehoe, hors d’oeuvres, and a bar. Tickets are $30 and are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Drinks from the bar are not included in the ticket price. Tickets can be purchased by calling (844) 906- 9006.
