Summary of Council Proceedings

July 10, 2017

The Regular Council Meeting convened at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 10, 2017, in the Council Chambers at City Hall with Mayor Litzner presiding.

Council approved the minutes from the June19, 2017, Council Meeting.

Council approved City Manager Therrian to sign the Engineers and Legal agreement in the wastewater project application to the USDA.

Council agreed to postpone the resolution for the Antique Tractor Show 2017, until issues concerning the tractor parade are resolved per Chief Wilk’s request.

Council adopted a Resolution of Support for the issuance of a Class C liquor license to Gateway City, LLC as part of the St Ignace DDA District Redevelopment Project Area.

Council approved the 2% long term agreement with the Sault Tribe for the proposed Fire Hall on Chambers and Marley Street.

Council considered and approved to hold a Public Hearing for the proposed Sign Ordinance on Monday, August 7, 2017 at 7pm in the Council Chambers at City Hall.

Chief Wilk informed Council of a new traffic control order changing the speed limit from 45 to 35 mph from South Airport Road north to I-75 through November 15, 2017.

Mike Singleton informed Council the City Marina has received a grant from Enbridge for $47.000 to replace decking on the main dock. Enbridge has agreed to supply labor and equipment.

Council considered and approved bills in the amount of $116,689.40.

The next Regular Council Meeting will be held on Monday, July 24, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall.
