Morey ‘Edwin’ Denton, Sr.

Morey “Edwin” Denton, Sr., 88, of Moran, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2017.

He was born June 18, 1929, to Charles and Maxine (nee Morey) Denton in Napoleon. He grew up in Brooklyn.

Throughout his life, Mr. Denton held a variety of employment positions.

He was a 50-year member of Moose Lodge #999 in St. Ignace.

Mr. Denton was an avid brook trout fisherman. He enjoyed traveling, and he loved to reminisce.

He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 69 years, Frances; a son and his family, Morey Jr. and Deb Denton of Nikiski, Alaska; a daughter and her family, Deborah and Frank Hiser of Jonesville; two granddaughters and their families, Amy and Tim Pernie of Pensacola, Florida, and Cyndi and William King of Hillsdale; a grandson and his family, Edwin and Ann Hiser of Jonesville, and 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister and her family, Linda House of Bronson; many cousins, nieces, and nephews, and a special friend, Dennis Buchholtz.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Denton was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Ladd; a brother, Charles Denton, and two grandsons, Morey Denton and Chad Denton.

No services will be held at this time.

R. Galer Funeral Home in Pickford assisted the family with arrangements.
