1,466 Tractors Cross Bridge

Lead tractors in the 10th anniversary Owosso Tractor Parts Antique Tractor Parade across the Mackinac Bridge reach the Upper Peninsula just after 9:30 a.m. Friday morning, September 8, with a large crowd of spectators greeting them near the Mackinac Bridge Authority toll plaza. This year’s parade included an event record 1,466 classic tractors. Tractor show organizer Bob Baumgras and his granddaughter Haven Canze are pictured here aboard the lead tractor, while Mackinac County Sheriff Scott Strait, the parade’s grand marshal, follows on the second tractor. Albion resident Dean Dermyer lets three-year-old Ethan Bankau sit in the driver’s seat of his 1960 John Deere 530 at the show in St. Ignace. Ethan loves tractors of all sizes and colors. Mr. Dermyer’s family has owned this tractor since his father bought it new more than 50 years ago and he still uses it today for light-duty work such as raking hay.
