LaTaunya Paquin


LaTaunya Paquin LaTaunya Paquin LaTaunya Ruby Ellen Paquin, 44, a lifelong resident of St. Ignace, passed away Monday, October 9, 2017, at her home, under hospice care.

She was born November 30, 1972, to Elliott, Jr. and Katherine (nee Olsen) Grondin in St. Ignace.

Mrs. Paquin was a 1990 graduate of LaSalle High School.

She married Steven Paquin October 6, 2001, at the United Methodist Church in St. Ignace.

Mrs. Paquin worked for many years at U.P. State Credit Union in St. Ignace.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in St. Ignace.

Mrs. Paquin was an avid fan of the St. Ignace Saints football and basketball teams. She was known for saying, “It’s a great day to be a Saint!” family members said. She had been an active supporter of the Saints “Pink” events for cancer research fundraising.

She enjoyed being outdoors and camping. She loved spending time with her two nephews, Mason and Blaize.

She is survived by her husband, Steven of St. Ignace; her mother, Katherine Grondin of Carleton; her father, Elliott Grondin of St. Ignace; two brothers and their families, David and Dana Grondin of Flat Rock and James Grondin of St. Ignace; two nephews, Mason and Blaize Grondin of Flat Rock; her mother-in-law, Michele Paquin of St. Ignace, and her best friends, Angela Fraser and Nicole Cheeseman Lee, both of St. Ignace.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, October 11, at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in St. Ignace with Reverend Susie Hierholzer officiating. Visitation will be from noon to time of the service at the church.
