St. Ignace Saints Win First Set; Lose Next Three to Manistique

The St. Ignace Saints won the first set then lost the next three and fell to the host Manistique Emeralds in a Monday, October 23, volleyball match.

With the teams tied at one set apiece, momentum shifted in the third set. Neither team could mount an extended run and it took extra points before the set was decided. Eventually, Manistique won it 27-25 and carried the momentum in the fourth set, securing the match win.

The scores were 25-21, 17-25, 25- 27, and 17-25. Senior Keshia Davis had nine kills and fellow senior Linnie Gustafson added six kills and six blocks for St. Ignace. Junior Madison Olsen had four kills. Senior captain Erika Frazier recorded 25 successful serves and led the team with 18 assists.
