Quality Inn of St. Ignace

Business Spotlight

This business spotlight is presented by the St. Ignace Chamber of Commerce. Member businesses are selected at random by the chamber, and information provided here is written by the chamber and Downtown Development Authority staffs. Congratulations to this week’s business in the spotlight, from the Chamber of Commerce and The St. Ignace News.

In its early days, the moose was chosen as the logo and, to this day, can be found at several of the Goldthorpe Enterprise businesses.

Customer service is a number one priority for the owners, as is evidenced by their team recently taking home the Gold Award. Of the 15,000 Quality Inns worldwide, our very own St. Ignace team ranked 102 and is just 3% away from receiving the Platinum honor – the highest honor available.

Paula Carey, guest of the Quality Inn, said, “When we were planning our travels, I wanted to stay in Mackinaw City and my husband wanted to stay in the U.P. We decided to stay here and I can’t be happier that we did. The staff was very accommodating. When I mentioned at check-in that we needed to leave at 5 a.m., I asked what time coffee would be ready. The attendant said it will be ready for us, and sure enough it was. They also had some food ready.”

Echoing that opinion, another guest said, “I had to make an unscheduled stop at St. Ignace to give my wife a chance to rest through a medical issue that came up suddenly. The people at the Quality Inn of St. Ignace were very helpful, accommodating, and friendly. They even went out of their way to not disturb her as she slept through most of the day and the second night. Of course, the pride they take in the care and maintenance of their facility was obvious the entire stay, and on all three shifts. Thank you.”

As the New Year approaches and your family heads to St. Ignace to celebrate, give the Quality Inn a call to reserve their rooms. Not only are you ensuring that stays will be enjoyable, you’re supporting a local business that gives back to our community. The Goldthorpe family provides donations each year to various community events and fundraisers, along with sponsoring the annual Trunk or Treat on Halloween.

Take the time to stop in and say hello to general manager Paula Mayer and her magnificent goldwinning team and, of course, don’t forget to take a selfie with the Golden Moose.
