Access to Phone, Internet Restored by Monday for Northern Michigan Residents

A shotgun blast to a fiber optic cable near Levering Sunday, March 31, knocked out area telephone, cable television, Internet, and cellular service from Charter Communications and Verizon Wireless for about 12 hours. Zoning Ordinance Review Scheduled



A Zoning Ordinance Review meeting will be Thursday, April 4, at 3 p.m. at Mackinac Island Community Hall. The city is in the process of reviewing its zoning ordinances. The most recent meeting was Wednesday, March 27. Wade Trim of Traverse City has been working closely with city officials to modify and streamline the document.

Teen Drivers Banned From Using Cell Phones



Teen drivers with Level 1 or Level 2 licenses under the Graduated Driver Licensing program are prohibited from using a cell phone while driving. The law went into effect Thursday, March 28.
